i spent many a happy time here as i went to northway school which alas is no more. my wife also went to northway school .i played football and cricket for the school team the football pitch in those days was round the other way. northway estate was built in 1952. i lived at the top of halliday hill which was only 10 mins walk from the manor ground.very convenient. i can remember when i wasin my early teens northway won something i think it was either the senior league or senior cup and the team toured the estate on an open top bus. i can also remember them playing the city at the white house ground and half the estate went to watch. happy days.
