i can remember the cuckoo lane end when the stand and i use the term stand very loosly was called the chicken run. it ran the length of the cuckoo lane end and was a row of wooden planks about 3 or 4 deep. it cost extra to sit in there which as kids we could not afford. but the bloke who took the money used to disapear at half time so we used to sneak in when he was gone .we had to be cute doing it as one of the teachers from my school was a regular in there. if you ever went to the white house ground to see the city the stand along the whitehouse road side was very similar
Just the one visit to the Whitehouse ground, in 1987 I think for Oxford City vs Oxford United in the Oxon Senior Cup. Billy Hamilton played, the pitch was a disgrace, a bog, and City won
