Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic this year’s Swedish Hop has had to be postponed.

 

This is organiser Kim Hedwall’s email to me this morning

“According to the Covid19, Corona virus I have decided to postpone the Swedish Hop until first weekend in June 2021.

 

With closed borders and restriction to travel as stay indoors for older people etc. the only decision is to postpone the hop.

Already Euro 2020 among other big tournaments is postponed and situation is not ideal.

 

Swedish FA, have decided to start the football season in the beginning of June as earliest.

As we got a planned game in the Superettan in the hop fixtures and also not knowing what will happen to the lower leagues,

all games could be moved to other dates, my decision is to postpone the hop until first weekend in June 2021.

Really a blow for me and everyone involved, as it could have been a very good hop.

 

I hope everyone will understand the decision and stay away from the virus.

Country after country is closing down in protection against the corona virus, so this is the only thing to do.”

For those of you that have sent me cheques thanks, and I’ll make sure those are destroyed. I hope those who have booked flights can obtain refunds. I hope that making an early decision on this will help.
